 It can sometimes be a challenge to photograph a rainbow. Because it is not solid, the camera does not have a point to focus on. Rainbows can also be short-lived after a storm, making the rainbow seem like an illusion. But if you want to know if rainbows really exist, ask any child enjoying the summer weather.

 A summer storm can feel very humbling when it rolls in like an ocean wave. We are a part of this bigger picture, not apart from it.

 Sour cherries are a real treat at the end of spring. Birds of many species and deer consume them in great numbers. People pick them for pies and other desserts. A spring frost can destroy sour cherry blossoms with one good cold snap, leaving the birds, deer and people to await the possibility of sour cherries next year.

Searching the field The bird of happiness For everyone but the insects in the field grass  This hummingbird seemed intent on keeping an eye on me. Even when it flew away for a few seconds it would return to the same tree branch over my head as if to make sure I was still there.
